Science Fair




The science fair: an exciting event that encourages students to think like young scientists.

Design a science project: that uses the scientific method to solve a problem. 

The project is due: Tuesday March 20th.

Students will be displaying their projects to the school on March 23rd.

I ask that you encourage your child and monitor his or her progress along the way. Your support is key to a successful project, but please encourage student independence in this project to promote student critical thinking and learning! It is important that your child wrestle with problems and try to solve them. Guide your child whenever and wherever you can, but let the final project reflect your child's individual effort and design.

Provided and sent home: project ideas, guidelines, science fair packet, and display labels.

I look forward to watching your child enjoy this unique opportunity for scientific discovery!

  Merfolk Classroom Music List Request The Merfolk classroom is a classroom that is rich with music. We love to listen to music while we are learning. “ A study from the University of Helsinki noted in 2015 that the simple act of listening to music while in class can help improve students’ memory and learning capability. There is also evidence to show that music played at low volumes during class activities can boost creativity and concentration. “ Learning should be fun, and music makes everything happy. I am asking students to take ownership of their music list for class. I use Vitamin Strings for quiet/concentration times. We are looking now for songs with words for other times.
